One of the things I hate most about my bifurcated digital lifestyle is that I don’t have a central place to maintain contacts. I’ve got phone numbers in my phone, email addresses in Gmail, other stuff in Facebook, etc.
I’ve yet to be able to seriously master Gmail, which would be the logical place to maintain one solid contacts list, because, since the email app saves every address that comes in and goes out, it’s a tangly mess of unrecognizable and indistinguishable @s.
I just want one place where I can sync all my peeps’s info to. Luckily, Lifehacker has just posted a nice tutorial on how to do just that.
Perhaps what I really wanted was their guide to cleaning up my Google contacts. You would think this type of process would be much easier, but it gets overwhelming when every social network and application you use saves every digital person you come into contact with.
