How long could you theoretically last without food or water? Surprisingly, longer than I thought.
According to this article in New Scientist, a person could last up to a year only consuming water and vitamins. Flip the scenario and have that person only consume food but no water or vitamins and they are dead within a week.
” Without water, the volume of blood in your body drops, and with it your blood pressure. Blood becomes thicker and stickier, making it harder to pump around the body, so your heart rate increases to compensate,” writes New Scientist. “Even in a cool environment, you wouldn’t last for more than a week without water.”
They don’t touch upon how long a person would last without booze, narcotics, cigarettes or masturbation. But I’m guessing a day or two tops.
