When the winter doldrums set in around late January, for some people the only thing to look forward to is the return of baseball in early April. Sure, it’s still cold at that time, at least in the Northeast anyways, but when baseball returns all is right with the world.
Here is Fenway Park, still covered in snow, a sleeping ballpark resting before the throngs of Red Sox Nation trample her and abuse her and love her for six straight months. The orange cone is homeplate and if you closely enough, you can see the slight bulge of pitcher’s mound. [thanks Paul]
