Yes it is. It’s just technically a dwarf planet according to the IAU, which down-graded the celestial object in 2006. Internet explainer C.G.P. Grey offers an explanation for those still upset with the change.
The long and short of it, at least according to a Harvard astrophysicist I once met and who voted to keep Pluto a planet, is that if Pluto didn’t get downgraded, it would be planetary anarchy. Instead of nine planets in the solar system, there would be thousands of planets to learn and so, it was easier for astronomers to down-grade Pluto than it would be to upgrade all similar celestial objects to planetary status.
