State Bird Provisions in San Francisco takes the crown in Bon Appetit’s list of 2012’s best new restaurants in America, but one thing that stands out from the ten restaurants featured is that most of them are focused on small quirky spaces, making food fun, and adventurous cooking using local ingredients. It’s hard to sum up, but there seems to be a general trend to all ten restaurants.
Aside from that, the magazine did a great job on the presentation and layout of the feature. I didn’t even mind clicking through a slideshow! Seriously. Cruise through the restaurant profiles, but don’t miss the recipes and nominees section.
