So there’s a live action Alvin & The Chipmunks coming out this Christmas. It stars Jason Lee as Dave, which is good. At this point Jason Lee is no longer a comedic secret and maybe he’ll presence will elevate this otherwise benign material above what we all think it will be.
David Cross has a role too, and funny as he may be, he doesn’t always pick the best roles. Be that as it may, there’s no telling what the story of the musical chipmunks movie will be, especially with no trailer out yet. So let’s recapp what we do know about the plot. Dave is a middle-aged man and he’s single and so he adopts three anthropomorphic chipmunks to be his sons. Now, if Richard Gere were to do that in real life, we’d all be just a bit suspicious of his intentions.
Sounds like this could be the Christmas heartwarmer of the year.
But now, thanks to I Watch Stuff, we have the first look at the initial one-sheet. If we may offer some advice for Dave. Don’t under any circumstances yell “Aaaaallllllllllvvvvvvvvviiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Cause it looks like this chipmunk may go all 50 Cent on him and pistol whip Dave or worse shoot him a bunch of times.
