He likes women, a good bar fight, rugby, and occassionally bashing in hotel employees with telephones. But it seems as if Russell Crowe doesn’t like cheerleaders. From ESPN (via AP) Crowe has decided to pull the plug on skimpily dressed cheerleaders for the South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby club he owns.
The Oscar-winning actor, who is part-owner in the South Sydney Rabbitohs club, said the club had become concerned that the cheerleaders — whose uniform includes fishnet stockings and tasseled miniskirts in the white, green and red team colors — were inappropriate entertainment.
Um… on the hand he explains that everyone feels uncomfortable by the cheerleaders outfits and that’s the reason why they’re getting the axe. Seems like a very family-friendly move on Mr. Crowe’s part. On the other hand, one wonders if Crowe has every heard of maybe just changing the cheerleaders outfits? Maybe, I dunno… I guess Mr. Telephone to the Head likes to go to extremes. A team of percussionists will replace the bevy of lady-folk.
At least I’m not the only one who thinks Russell Crowe can be, ah, what’s the word? Oh, yes. Pretentious.
We keed, we keed. We love you Rusty! Please don’t beat us up.
