The Brave One

It’s like Batman but with much more psychological drama, no cool gadgets and certainly no Batsuit. Okay, maybe this one is more like The Punisher, or rather what that atrocity of a comic book movie should have been like. The Brave One is the latest film from director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview With a Vampire, Breakfast on Pluto) and we’re fairly certain that there won’t be any she-males anywhere to be seen.

From the Warner Bros. summary:

New York radio host Erica Bain (Jodie Foster) has a life that she loves and a fianc? she adores. All of it is taken from her when a brutal attack leaves Erica badly wounded and her fianc? dead. Unable to move past the tragedy, Erica begins prowling the city streets at night to track down the men she holds responsible. Her dark pursuit of justice catches the public?s attention, and the city is riveted by her anonymous exploits. But with the NYPD desperate to find the culprit and a dogged police detective (Terrence Howard) hot on her trail, she must decide whether her quest for revenge is truly the right path, or if she is becoming the very thing she is trying to stop.

And, yes, we’re totally riveted by Jodie Foster playing a vigilante.

The Brave One, starring Jodie Foster, Terrance Howard and Naveen Andrews opens on Sep. 14.
