Patton Oswalt is beloved amongst the young kids who are into the comedy (much like Zack Galifianakis), but I don’t particularly have a strong aversion towards him either way.
He was great as Remy the rat in Pixar’s Ratatouille, and his “serious” turn has me intrigued. In Big Fan he plays a NY Giants diehard who gets beaten up by his favorite player when he tries to meet him in a club. Intriguing.
Also intriguing is that this film is the directorial debut of Robert Siegel, best known for penning last year’s The Wrestler. If this is half as good as that was, by golly I’ll be gushing.
