According to Deadline, “Miramax and The Weinstein Company (TWC) today announced an agreement to create sequels to some of Miramax’s best-known properties and to partner on potential new television shows and special edition home entertainment products.”
What this essentially means is that we’re going to get a slew of direct-to-DVD sequels to films like: Bad Santa, Rounders, Shakespeare in Love, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Copland, From Dusk Till Dawn, Swingers, Clerks, Shall We Dance, and The Amityville Horror.
Egats. Woof! Ho. Ly. Fuck. The article also mentions the potential for some of these movies to be turned into television properties, which sounds infinitely more interesting. I could certainly imagine a Bad Santa, Rounders or even Copland television show on FX, AMC, or even a premium cable channel.
