Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze, the duo responsible for Being John Malkovich and Adaptation are teaming up once again for a political satire, which Slashfilm describes as “a satire about how world leaders gather to figure out all the seismic events that will take place in the worlds, from oil prices to wars that will be waged.”
Obviously, given both of these guy’s track records, the movie will be much more bonkers than it sounds.
The really interesting news, here, however, is that Joaquin Phoenix is attached to star. Phoenix looks to be rebounding well after trying to trash his status as one of Hollywood’s more reliable actors jumping into this project and Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master.
It’ll be nice to have Phoenix back picking interesting projects.
