Even with the ridiculous white savior trope and the similarities to Avatar, trust that director Andrew Stanton will deliver something worthy of your time with John Carter. Plus? It’s got Tim Riggins in it. It’ll probably be a box-office disaster for Disney, but we’re feeling like this could be the kind of movie that discovers a loyal following on DVD. Much like Scott Pilgrim did.
Then again, that orchestral rendition of Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” is making me want to kick ass seven ways to Sunday.
