I’ve watched this a few times now, and I can comfortably say, I dig the look and feel of it. It doesn’t make a lick of sense in terms of continuity with the first two movies (we don’t mention the third around here), so I’m not sure why they are tying this one to those two. But the vibe is right. The period details, the emphasis on the characters. I dig the plot tying them to the Cuban Missile Crisis and while I might not be insanely excited, there’s enough here to like as opposed to being cautious about.
Okay, I’m down. Seeing the footage is like breathing a sigh of relief. Whew, maybe Matthew Vaughn didn’t fuck this one up.
