The trilogy is complete, or will be, once Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost’s ‘The World’s End’ hits theaters on Aug. 23.
Of course, the trilogy I’m referring to is the trio’s The Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy or Blood and Ice-Cream Trilogy — whichever you prefer to call it.
It includes 2004’s beloved ‘Shaun of the Dead’, a zombie-comedy in which the Cornetto ice cream flavor was Strawberry for the color blood; 2007’s under-appreciated ‘Hot Fuzz’, a buddy-cop action-flick send-up in which the Cornetto ice cream was blue. Word is this time around for the alien-buddy flick the ice cream flavor will be mint green.
‘The World’s End’ looks to be a perfect capstone to the whole shebang.
