Lollipalooza lineup announced

Remember when rock festivals were just getting started and Lollapalooza was for like the hard rock kids who smoked dope in the auto shop and there was the H.O.R.D.E. festival for the hippie kids who smoked dope in their bedroom. And then there was the Warped Tour for the kids who hated both sets of stoners and their parents to boot? We remember those times too. The good ole days of rock and roll. Now there’s festivals every other weekend and they’re all pretty much the same, just depends on how much you want to pay, which niche bands you want to see, and how far you’re willing to travel.

The grandaddy of them all, Lollapalooza, which is now just a weekend festival Aug. 3-5 at Chicago’s Grant Park, has announced the lineup for the year’s festival. Lots of great bands including some old favorites, some indie stalwarts and some who will no doubt become you’re 2008 favorite band. Among those to be there are Pearl Jam, Ben Harper, My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, Spoon, TV on the Radio, Cold War Kids and G. Love.

If you’ve got $165 to poney up for this one it might make for a nice alternative to the circus that is Bonnaroo.

Full lineup after the jump.

its been a while since i have dropped by the site. i am loving the new logo! man that is one hell of a line up. i guess i should not complain though, i just booked my trip to chi-town for the pitchfork festival. although the lineup is not as good as some of the other festivals this summer, it still should be good time. keep up the good work with the site, i enjoy reading it.
