Coldplay have a new album coming out June 17, which was produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs. It’s got a weird title, which makes us think they’re still chasing the tail of Radiohead. Not that there’s anything wrong with wanting to be like Radiohead, it’s just does it have to be so obvious?
Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends will get it’s first auditory glimpse into the world tomorrow, when the band gives away the first single “Violet Hill.” It’ll be available for free download all week. Unfortunately, the band isn’t so much like Radiohead and won’t be giving away their entire album for any price you feel like paying. Mostly because the majority of people wouldn’t pay that much.
Just kidding. We sorta like Chris Martin and the other three guys, it’s just sometimes they come off as the guy who tries waaay to hard. It’s not that we don’t like them, it’s just we wish they were comfortable in their own skin.
Bonus points though for scheduling two free concerts. One at Madison Square Garden and the other at London’s Brixton Academy.
