This definitely comes as a welcome surprise! I had no idea the Black Keys were working on a side-project with notable MCs like Mos Def, Q-Tip, RZA and Ludacris. What’s not surprising is that Matt fell for it immediately: “‘Ain’t Nothing Like You’ is a good example of the the more riff-oriented tracks on the record. Combine the forceful, stomping riffs of the Black Keys with the lyrics of these MCs and you’re pretty much guaranteed a great track. I also love that they occasionally stray into R&B territory with the instrumentals. It’s a bit like listening to a Roots record.”
Sounds like I’m going to have to get my hands on this record over the Thanksgiving Weekend.
