Seattle’s The Head and The Heart have signed with Sub Pop Records, though there’s been no official announcement. This is great news for both the band and record label.
It’s interesting to see the transformation of Seattle’s music scene in the two decades since grunge first put them on the map. Now? Well, The Head and The Heart, along with Hey Marseilles and other bands, are at the forefront of a sort-of-pastoral, whimsical, Americana sound that is distinctively Seattle. The Seattle Times first put their finger on this movement back in 2008.
You can pick up The Head and The Heart’s (one of 2010’s best records, btw) self-titled album at CD Baby for $8.99.
