Lost’s composer, Michael Giacchino, reveals to Alex Ross some of the tricks to the show’s trade. Giacchino’s music, like pretty much everything he does for J.J. Abrams and Co., is often so great that it tends to overshadow the actual content.
On Lost, the only gripe I would admit to is that sometimes the scoring works too well. I’m not really afforded an opportunity to genuinely determine how I feel about a particular scene because Giacchino’s score determines that feeling for me. [via]
