Heather was able to coax Portland’s Drew Grow & The Pastors’ Wives out to Colorado for her Chapel Sessions. It’s a nice get, as they say, and wonderful to see Drew recovered from the car accident that almost took his life.
DGPW is the perfect band for the Chapel Sessions because, as Heather so rightly points out, “their songs also lend themselves extremely well to the sort of collective uprising of the spirit that we typically associate with churches, chapels, and other spaces for the sacred.”
Listening to DGPW is sacred and religious and something that warms the soul on cold wintry nights. It’s the acoustic equivalent of a light bulb cutting through the darkness when all you can see is your breath and everything is silent save for the crunch of snow on the bottom of your boot.
Anyway, Heather’s posted about four songs, including the one above, and you should go listen to them all and get to know DGPW.
