Miles Davis Meets Kenny G

Miles Davis looks like he’s gonna have to choke a bitch, and by bitch, we mean Kenny G.  The two met when the saxophonist opened for Miles Davis during a “late 80’s” tour, according to Mr. G’s Facebook page. Can you really blame Miles Davis though? He probably realized his mistake about fifteen minutes into their tour.  [via marathonpacks]

Can Miles speak English, he looks African. Like one of them you see on safari or that washes Daddys car.

In all fairness, Kenny G is a great musician. Just because we associated him with being cheesy, it doesn't change the fact that he is talented.

no. kenny g is not a great musician. he is a far less talented improvisor than almost all saxophonists with a reputation in the jazz idiom. he plays consistently sharp out of tune, and only has had the succuss he has had because he learned a couple tricks that would elicit a response from his audience. he is the lowest kind of musician, because instead of imersing himself in the music he superfficially borrows from it and goes for the lowest common denominator.. certainly not worth even the time i have spent writing this post

    The saxophone lines
    The dentist's tools
The elevator's muzak blares from the top of his penthouse
Down on all the sad cunts who clearly
    Don't know any better

Miles may not have said anything about Kenny G, but Pat Metheny certainly had a few things to share…

Wow, I don't think Pat likes Kenny G.

want to know something really sad? Kenny G has sold millions more albums than Miles Davis.

"As of 2003, Kenny G was named the 25th-highest selling artist in America by the RIAA, with 48 million albums sold in the USA as of July 31, 2006."

Miles just stepped on Kenny's sopranosax, and hopes Kenny will not notice that it's bend

Miles is thinking, "Now I no where all my Jeri Curl activator has been going!"

  • Kenneth Gee February 2, 2011, 11:23 am

In fairness to Kenny, Miles is clearly looking at something off to the side – not annoyed with the G man.

No for sure. But it's funnier to think of the photo of Miles being somehow annoyed with him.

No, I think Miles was lookin at one of his band members and motioning like " look at this sad M'F**Ker" talkin' this ol' yuppy bullshit here. LOL
