“The sanctity of marriage” has always seemed like a bullshit slogan engineered by proponents of same-sex marriage. Much in the same way that marriage was engineered by the patriarch to keep women down. Everybody knows that nowadays divorce is fairly common; marriage, in most cases, being nothing more than a tax break.
Especially in Massachusetts! — that bastion of Sodom and Gomorrah, where the liberal, educated elite gays work to destroy the foundation of life.
What, what? That’s not the case. Massachusetts is the exception? “Provisional data from 2008 indicates that the Massachusetts divorce rate has dropped from 2.3 per thousand in 2007 down to about 2.0 per thousand for 2008. What does that mean ? To get a sense of perspective consider that the last time the US national divorce rate was 2.0 per thousand (people) was 1940. You read that correctly. The Massachusetts divorce rate is now at about where the US divorce rate was the year before the United States entered World War Two.”
Hmmm. I’m going to have to rethink this hypothesis on how gay-loving, godless liberals are destroying the sanctity of marriage. It’s not possible people in love, regardless of gender, really stay together, right?
