Commissioner Bud Selig is like the monster that will not die. He continues to do everything in his power to ruin baseball, which has succeeded over the last 20 years in spite of Selig’s leadership.
His latest salvo is to expand the number of playoff teams from eight to ten. So, instead of a very tidy four-team playoff in each league, Selig’s idea is to have two wildcard teams square off in the opening round, with the winner advancing into the division series. There seems to be no opposition to this plan.
Fuck. That’s all. Selig might as well expand baseball’s playoffs to 16 teams (eight per league) so that they can play baseball well into January with a smooth transition to February’s spring training.
