Inside the Virgin Galactic Spaceship

A BBC reporter becomes the first journalist to tour the Virgin Galactic space program, which hopes to be operational within a few years to take civilians into outer space.

Here’s what caught my attention: “The current spaceship has not been into space yet, even in testing. But it’s gradually being released at higher and higher altitudes.”

Does that just seem perplexing to anybody else?

    Hi James!

SpaceShipOne, which won the Ansari X Prize by going into space twice in the same reusable spacecraft is now hanging in the Smithsonian Museum! This brought about the relationship between Scaled Composites & Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Galactic!

We are in full test regime right now with SpaceShipTwo (VSS Enterprise) which was unveiled to the world in December 2009. To date, we have accomplished 49 test flights with VMS Eve (mothership) and 4 successful drop/glide tests and have to make sure she can return safely from 50,000 ft before we take her up into space!

We are continously working on the hybrid rocket motor tests as well. Normally classified, results will soon be published!

I am 1 of 76 people authorized in the America's to sell space travel with our Luxury Consortium Virtuoso who has the exlusive rights with Virgin Galactic! And we've sold over 420 seats so far!

    Space Tourism is here!
    Thank you!

Thanks Beverly, love the inside info! Any chance you'd be willing to let a lonely blogger up into space for free, if I agree to write about it?
