The Economist and JESS3 teamup to create this video infographic detailing women’s rights and economic opportunities around the world. Not surprisingly, many African and Middle East countries land near the bottom, while Scandinavian countries — Belgium, Sweden, Norway — land at the top. And yes, I know Belgium isn’t a Scandinavian country, but it’s proximity is very close.
America does okay, landing around 15th. Shameful, really, considering there’s no excuse. Ultimately, what this illustrates, is that the world and the US have a long way to go to make the world a more equal and viable place for females. [via doobybrain]
