More than half the global population now lives in urban areas and while we tend to assume that vibrant cities like NYC, London, and Berlin make the world go round, Foreign Policy magazine looks at 75 urban areas that will be economic powerhouses in 2025.
The bad news is it’s an annoying slideshow.
The good news is there are plenty of cities — including Belo Horizonte, Fuzhou, and even Philadelphia — that surprised me by their inclusion. Those surprises and the urban photography make the slideshow worth cruising through. And yes, most of the cities are located in China, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise at all.
