NBC Picks Up J.J. Abrams Latest

Based on the man’s track record with Felicity, Alias, Fringe, and um, Lost, it’s really not surprising that NBC has given the greenlight to Undercovers for a full season

Even if the premise seems less than thrilling, “a married couple who are re-activated as CIA agents after years of retirement,” neither were the premises for any of his previous shows and look how they turned out.

Abrams co-wrote and directed the pilot episode, his first since 2004’s Lost, and NBC execs were very pleased with it.  One thing to keep in mind is that he’s partnering on this show with Josh Reims, responsible for ABC’s Brothers & Sisters.

Right off the bat, I’m imaging a show that’s a cross between B&S and Alias.  And what I really want to know is what character Greg Grunberg is going to play?
