Well, so much for the Friday night death slot. Fox has renewed the show for a fourth season. It might be possible to argue that the third season has been both the show’s worst and best. It’s been wildly uneven, absolutely, but it’s also interesting to see the show finally go for it — to let its proverbial freak flag hang out in the wind.
It’s unfortunate that Fringe is on a network, as it’s the kind of show that deserves to have 13 great episodes per season, instead of trying to fill out 22. Hopefully, they decide to call it quits after five seasons and wrap everything up.
