Armando Iannucci’s In the Loop remains one of the funniest and linguistically dexterous movies in the last five years. The movie was an extension of his acclaimed political sitcom The Thick of It. Now, he’s bringing that type of humor to HBO’s Veep, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the Vice President.
As if that wasn’t enough to pique your interest (trust me it should even if nothing from the above paragraph makes sense), the show was originally developed by Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz. And oh yeah, it also stars Anna Chlumsky (who’s beginning to enjoy something of a renaissance) and AD-alum Tony Hale (Buster Bluth).
The first episode is set to premiere Sunday, April 22nd. Oddly, if I knew nothing about the show, the above preview would do nothing for me. My interest is driven largely on the talent involved. [via Buzzfeed]
