TVGuide got the first image of David Morrissey as The Governor in the upcoming third season of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’. It’s interesting that Morrissey’s character looks like a regular dude and not the comic book incarnation, but perhaps that was the point — considering the comic book version has long, grubby hair, an eye patch and one of those douchy mustaches. In short, he looked like a comic book villain and that doesn’t always translate to a movie or TV.
The Governor is bad news. It’s his sick, twisted actions that count more than what he looks like. Hopefully, AMC and the show only tone that down a hair. “The Walking Dead” returns for its 16-episode third season in October. [via danhacker]
