Global Currency Map

Here’s a map of the world with each country depicted in its national currency. A 36″ x 24″ print will set you back $24. It’s times like this that I’m always reminded of how boring U.S. currency design is. [via explore]

I love Oliver Shilling’s minimal film posters because they seem so much more expressive, like a minimal watercolor, than your typical geometric minimalist effort. So far, he’s done posters for: Fight Club, Se7en, Layer Cake, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Shutter Island, A Clockwork Orange, Drive, and Léon (aka The Professional). All prints are [...]

Artist Tim Anderson shows us what Star Wars would have looked like if Sergio Leone had made the science fiction trilogy in Italy instead of George Lucas. I gotta say, I would watch the shit out of Star Wars re-imagined as a spaghetti western. [via buzzfeed]

Slashfilm has the plot synopsis: “Steven Spielberg directs two-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis in “Lincoln,” a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President’s tumultuous final months in office. In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country [...]

This massive taxonomy charts the hundreds of villains who have menaced Gotham City over the past 70 years, breaking down by name everyone from big time baddies like the Joker and Bane to lesser known miscreants [...]

I have fond memories of eating those tasteless character ice cream pops with the single piece of hardened bubblegum embedded into them as a kid growing up. Usually, I’d go with one of the Ninja Turtles. But, man do I wish they had some of these frozen superheroes on a stick as created by Chungkong [...]

As a reminder: head over to mondotees.com by midnight central time today and order the above poster for $40. Everyone who orders one will get one, which never happens with an Olly Moss and Mondo poster release. Also, included in one poster will be a golden ticket that’ll allow the winner to have Moss do an original, one-off [...]

Anything Guillermo del Toro does has our attention. Sure, we’re disappointed he’s not going to get the chance to make At The Mountains of Madness, but whatever his giant robots vs. giant monsters movie turns out to be, it is sure to have giant robots. How giant? Well, the first poster for the movie is [...]

Like Endswell notes, the movies featured are not listed in chronological order for some inexplicable reason. Still, it’s pretty cool when a movie is famous enough that it can be represented by simply iconography.

Slashfilm got their hands on the first teaser poster for the new James Bond flick, Skyfall, and it’s really disappointing. I hate being negative, but I fail to believe this was the best the marketing department could come up with. It’s basically a race to the bottom of the design well. Picture of Daniel Craig? [...]
